Parliamentarian | Khanh 'Connie' Nguyen, MD

I am a board-certified dermatologist and solo-practitioner for my own clinc, Premier Derm Center, located in the Heights, Houston for over 15 years. I have been an active member of VAMA-GH for almost 20 years. During these years, I participated in radio and TV show outreach to the Vietnamese community on dermatology topics, helped to organize galas with officiers, and gave lectures on dermatology updates to members. I chaired the very first non-professional Ao Dai fashion show for VAMA-GH that featured over 20 of our amazing members and their spouses to start the tradition of our member Ao Dai fashion shows. Since then, I have organized or participated in other Ao Dai shows. I also gave a lecture on the history of our unique heritage history of Ao Dai during the first show. As a resident, I was the social committee chair for the entire University of Texas Medical Center in Houston organization. Being that I speak Vietnamese well, I have had the privilege of serving our Vietnamese patients with intractable skin diseases that could not get help from lack of understanding English. I look forward to my role as VAMA-GH parliamentarian where I get to be well-versed in our rules and orders so as to help our meetings, elections, officers, and members to be in compliance with our Bylaws to ensure the success of VAMA-GH now and in future.
