About VAMA-GH

The Vietnamese American Medical Association of Greater Houston (VAMA-GH), established in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is the representative organization for Vietnamese physicians in the Greater Houston Area. Our membership consists of over 70 physicians in every specialty, both primary care and subspecialty practice. Our members practice coverage area ranges from Galveston to the Woodlands and Sugar Land to Baytown. The VAMA-GH mission is to promote health among the Vietnamese population in Houston and surrounding counties. We aim to achieve this goal by educating our patients about good health practices and promoting preventative health care. We strive to improve the health of our patients by offering frequent continuing medical education classes to our member physicians. We organize and staff health fairs to provide free medical care to the underserved Vietnamese community, especially those patients without medical coverage. We staff bone marrow drive to encourage potential donors from the Asian community, a group not well represented in the national bone marrow bank. We encourage high school and college students to enter the medical field by offering scholarships to deserving students.
